Lemur in the Atrium

First in the Elements Series, “Lemur in the Atrium” features a lemur from a photo I took at the Detroit Zoo. Thought I’d put him someplace a bit more interesting, like the sunroom at Meadowbrook Hall. I added some elements to the room, swapped out others. This painting was the inspiration for the series. I created a deck of cards with categories and subjects. When starting a new Elements painting, I draw from the deck and use my imagination to compose the painting. At first glance, people don’t notice the lemur. Some ask “What is a lemur?”
